  • D-1 to Brno finally located after a little local difficulty. Stella the satnav says 484km to Budapest and we have Nouvelle Vague :) #Czech #

Day 5 : Somewhere in Europe

The day is young and we drive on. Left Krakow and visited Auschwitz – which had a powerful impact on all of us – will leave it to later for a fuller reaction.

On leaving Auschwitz we headed for a motorway that exists, kinda, but ultimately wasn’t open. Cue mayhem, circling and the sat nav taking up a road that turned into a field.

A brief stop to recalibrate tired minds and plan b was cooked up. Top work from Dougie all round at the wheel.

We’re now on our planned motorway route heading towards Brno with our now customary rain accompaniment. Current estimated time of arrival is, however, a long way off – 451km to go.

More later…

Day 5 : Leaving Krakow

About to leave Krakow. Not the easier last day we’d hope for, the direct route looks too tricky so we’re going the long way round on the motorways.
